Persona 4 Golden Review
Review Written By: MokouWist Persona 4 Golden throws the player named protagonist out of his home town in the city to the fictional rural town of Inaba. Just a couple of days after arriving dead bodies are found hanging from telephone poles and you soon discover its linked to a serial killer who murders his victims via throwing them into the T.V. You and your new friends pursue the killer and prevent more people from dying by rescuing them from the T.V world and battling shadows using your persona. If you are unfamiliar with the franchise a persona is the physical manifestation of a person's shadow controlled by the ego of its owner. Among your group of friends you are unique for you have the ability to wield multiple personas which you can fuse together to make more powerful beings. When your not battling shadows in the T.V world you'll probably be working on your social links. Social links will strengthen the power of your personas, and grant your allies new combat abilities such as a follow up attack, or a sacrifice that allows them to defend you from an otherwise fatal attack. You may also take jobs to earn more money, improve social stats,or even form new social links.
The game even has a few alternate endings, and some new game plus content to improve the replay ability tremendously. The game makes a lot of odd changes to the JRPG formula but offers a few tutorials to help you find your footing. But I can't write a review for this game without mentioning the presentation. The game's soundtrack consist mostly of Japanese pop but people who don't care for pop will still enjoy the games music nonetheless. The HD visuals look amazing on the PS Vita despite not being incredibly detailed.
In short Persona 4 golden is an amazing game and warrants a purchase for any RPG fan,or even gamers who beat the original PS2 version because of all the new content that's been added including a new dungeon and social link. This game is an easy 9.5/10 and I implore you to try the game out.
